Charlton Bradford “Brad” Jefferson was born in Ridgeville South Carolina, January 13, 1975. He is the only child of Verbenia and Harold Jefferson. His mother was the first African American female magistrate in Dorchester County. His grandmother, Mrs. Victoria Delee was a civil right activist from Ridgeville, South Carolina.
After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army in the summer of 1993. He originally enlisted for 3 years but grew fond of the Army and ended up doing 22 years. During that time, he met several people and visited several countries and many cities in the US. He worked as a Communications Specialist, a Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Program Officer, an Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) Specialist, and various supervisor/leadership roles.
He retired in 2015 at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Georgia, where he, his wife, Danielle, daughter Nicole, and dog Chase, lives to date. After retirement Brad worked as a Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) instructor at Windsor High School. He also joined The 100 Black Men of Savannah that same year. After two years of teaching Brad went back to school to get a degree in Human Services, which help him become the Youth Health Coordinator at St. Joseph/Candler. He has authored three books and is working on releasing more soon.Brad started his career as a public speaker in 2023. His wife Danielle is a school counselor at Savannah Chatham County Public School system. His daughter Nicole is a flight attendant. He enjoys music, live concerts, sports and his love for sneakers certifies him as a “sneakerhead”, but most of all, he loves mentoring the youth and being an asset to the community.
