Crystal Bridges – Program Manager

Born amidst the desert landscapes of El Paso, Texas, and raised amidst the southern charm of Savannah, Georgia, Crystal Bridges embodies the dynamic fusion of these two worlds. A proud Savannah native, Crystal’s journey has been led by the pursuit of artistic expression, academic achievement, and a fiery passion for blazing her own unique trail.

Crystal is relentless in her pursuit of knowledge and self improvement. She attended and proudly graduated from Savannah High School. Her academic path led her to the illustrious Savannah State University, where she emerged as a graduate with her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with a minor in Behavior Analysis. In addition to currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration degree, she is also a student in Step Up Savannah’s Neighborhood Leadership Academy.

Crystal’s creative spirit knows no bounds. She is a gifted singer, a talented writer of poems, songs, and journalistic articles, specifically on pop culture. In 2019, she ventured into the realm of self-publishing with a collection of heartfelt poems. In 2021, she captivated audiences with the release of a single and music video, showcasing her versatile talents as a musician. Crystal is a voracious reader and movie watcher with a penchant for sci-fi and fantasy literature. Above all, Crystal’s most cherished role is that of a mother to her three-year-old son, Jayce-Angel. He is not only the heart of her world but also the driving force behind her dreams. Every decision, every pursuit, is marked by the love and responsibility she holds as a devoted parent.

She was drawn to Deep because the organization’s anti-racist, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive framework reflects many of her own personal values and approach to creating change in the city of Savannah and beyond. Crystal is also a proponent of the power of creativity, compassion and determination as tools to effect radical change in our society.
